05/01: Arizona Educational Posters for School Children
I
recently chanced across an offer for some educational posters to use in my home
school program however, upon applying to the state of Arizona for them here is
the response that I received. I posted the response here just so others will
know what the state of Arizona is like when it comes to other states children.
Dear Requestor:
We received your e-mail requesting a free poster from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill your request.
Our offer of a free poster is in the “Focus: WILD Arizona” section of our Web site, which is aimed at Arizona teachers/educators and is tied to our environmental education program and lesson plans. It was not intended to be mass mailed in response to requests from the general public.
Recently, information about our posters was somehow picked up and posted on various Web sites promoting “free merchandise” to consumers, and we have since been inundated with requests, primarily from out-of-state requestors, to have posters mailed out. Due to budgetary constraints, we are unable to mail posters in response to out-of-state requests.
The poster is in PDF format on our Web site and can be downloaded and printed if you wish. Go to http://www.azgfd.gov/i_e/ee/resources/posters/rattlesnake/snake_index.shtml, left click on the poster to open it, and choose an option to print from your computer. While you are on our Web site, please take advantage of the lesson plans that partner with our resources. If you are visiting Arizona, we also invite you to stop by an Arizona Game and Fish Department office for a free poster.
Our Web site will be amended as soon as possible to reflect the limitations of our resource offers. If this has reached an Arizona applicant in error, please re-email me your request and it will be filled (Arizona addresses only).
Thank you for your understanding.
